Tom wins 1st competition
Sunday 8th May
Tom Li won his first Junior Stableford with 41 points. Callum Walker (40) and Matt Lye (37) were 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Matt maintains the lead, tied on points with Tom Li, in the Day Trophy for the Junior with the best hole by hole stableford score for 2011.
Matt and Will Double Up!
Thursday 14th April
Matt Lye and Will Cutmore had their second 1st-2nd finish of the week. Matt won the Veal Salver with a nett 68 and Will won the April Junior Medal with a nett 69. Tommy Ashton placed 3rd with another excellent round of 76 gross including a triple bogey 7!
Nett hole scores count towards Aslett Trophy eclectic.
Junior Fourball
Junior Captain Anthony Burch and Tommy Ashton got their season off to a great start, winning the Junior Fourball Betterball on Saturday with 40 points. Matt Lye and James Biggs in his first competiton came 2nd with 37 points.
It was great to see 4 boys play their first Verulam junior competition on the same day.

Strong finish to junior season
Verulam Juniors continued their fine form into the final County events of 2010.
Herts Boys Intermediate Championship
Tommy Ashton shot a gross 73 to finish 3rd scratch in the Herts Boys Intermediate Championships at Harpenden Common on Thursday 28th Oct. Tommy picked up the 2nd place prize for U15 handicap (67).
Good performances too from Nick Marnoch – 5th in the U15 handicap (69), Cameron Taylor (71) & Anthony Burch (72).
Herts Girls Autumn Meeting
Molly Doyle came 2nd with 35 points in the Herts Girls Autumn Meeting at The Hertfordshire on Thursday 28th Oct.
Anthony wins September Junior Stableford
Sunday 19th September
Anthony Walter won the September Junior Stableford with 40 points. In form players Anthony Burch (39 points) and Matt Lye (35 points) were 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Nick retains the lead in the Day Trophy for the Junior with the best hole by hole stableford score for 2010.
Matt wins Intersport
Saturday 21st August
Matt Davey wins the Intersport Trophy with a score of 88-20=68. Tommy Ashton (78-7=71) and Anthony Burch (90-18=72) are 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Tommy wins the August Junior Medal with his nett 71.
Nick Marnoch wins the Aslett Trophy for the Junior with the best hole by hole nett score in medal competitions for 2010 of 53 on count-back from Ed Morgan.
Tommy & Nick win Herts Junior Foursomes
Tommy Ashton and Nick Marnoch combined to win Best Pair Under 16 at the Herts Golf Union Peggy de Podesta Junior Foursomes.
The boys scored 75 points over 36 holes at Brookmans Park Golf Club on Thursday 12th August.
The Verulam team placed 9th on 138 points with the other pair of Calum Marjoram and Ed Morgan scoring 63 points.
Sudden death for Junior Champ!
Tuesday 27th July
2009 Junior Club Champion Calum Marjoram birdied the 36th hole to take this year’s competition to a sudden-death play-off as he tied with Tommy Ashton on 159. Tommy prevailed at the 1st extra hole to win the Scorer Trophy as 2010 Junior Club Champion.
Nick Marnoch wins the Rylands Trophy for the best 36-hole nett score of 130. Cameron Taylor missed out after scoring equal best gross score of 77 in the morning as he ended the day 1 behind in the handicap and 2 behind in the championship.
On a day of impressive scoring 7 of the 10 players cut their handicaps. Nick Marnoch takes over the lead in the Aslett Trophy for the Junior with the best hole by hole nett score for 2010 on count-back from Ed Morgan.
Matt wins Oliver Trophy
Sunday 18th July
Matt Davey won his first Verulam junior competition, the Oliver Trophy with a score of 91-23=68. Nick Marnoch (94-22=72) and Ben Moore (106-28=78) were 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Nick wins the July Medal with nett 72.
