This competition was played on the 2 January 2010 and the early morning conditions made it difficult to stop a golf ball. The afternoon players had more favourable conditions although it was still very firm.

H Boycott Brown & S Wilson = 41 points (after card play off)
T Fabian & P Keen = 41 points (after card play 0ff)
G Eastwood & C Guilbert = 41 points
Another interesting point from this event which had 37 pairs taking part was that there were only 2 Two’s.
Verulam’s Senior Scratch Team win 2009 League!
Dick Ashby (Capt) receives trophy
On Tuesday 28th July, our Senior Scratch Team posted a resounding 6:0 victory over nearest rivals Knebworth to win the 2009 League! Nothing less than a ‘Knebwash’ would have been good enough to secure the top slot - a fact carefully concealed from the Verulam Team by Skipper Dick Ashby until after the match! The format is foursomes matchplay played off scratch and, as you would expect, the league is keenly contested.
